ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mark Piggott, a native of Phillipsburg, N.J., graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1980. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1983 as a Navy Journalist. He spent 23 years in the Navy, serving on three aircraft carriers and various duty stations along the East Coast. During his naval career, he visited many countries in Europe and the Middle East, inspiring him as he developed the background for his first novel. "Forever Avalon" was inspired by long off-duty hours playing late night sessions of "Dungeons & Dragons" added to long periods of separation from his family while deployed.

He retired in 2006 and settled in Newport News, Virginia. He is currently the Public Affairs Officer for Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Yorktown, Va.
